More than 380 transition year students from all over the west including students from Balla, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Louisburgh, and Westport recently took to the stage in Breaffy House Resort a part of the Awakening concert. The event was a celebration of both modern church and contemporary music that had been described by many as Glee meets the X-Factor meets church music.

Principal announced for Our Lady’s College

CEIST (Catholic Education and Irish Schools Trust) has announced the appointment of Clíona Ní Néill as the first principal of Our Lady’s College, Galway. Ms Ní Néill is a native of Galway City and current principal of Presentation Secondary School, a position she has held since 2006.

An event took place this week to mark the launch of Our Lady’s College, which will officially open its doors in September 2016. This new school represents the union of two well-known Galway educational facilities; Presentation Secondary School and Mercy Newtownsmith.
