Today in Ireland there is an undercurrent growing which is tearing away at the moral fibre of Irish society. It is causing division. It is creating an atmosphere of hate, a separation of people into 'us and them', and creating intolerance for minority communities and their cultural traditions.

 Mayo Intercultural Action, a voluntary organisation that provides support to the county’s immigrant population, is in the running to receive one of this year’s Media and Multicultural Awards (MAMAs). The MAMAs, now in their seventh year, recognise the people, groups, companies, institutions and media platforms that promote diversity and multiculturalism in Ireland and the awards ceremony will take place in Dublin on Thursday November 27.
