When in April the sweet showers fall
Earlier this week Ireland West Airport Knock and Knock Shrine announced that the first Diocesan pilgrimage from the Archdiocese of Boston to Ireland’s National Marian Shrine will take place in July this year. The announcement of this pilgrimage follows a similar pilgrimage from the New York Archdiocese which took place last summer. This will be the first ever transatlantic service operated by Aer Lingus, from Boston, to Ireland West Airport Knock.
Early on Sunday morning (August 9), it was a historic day for Ireland West Airport Knock and Knock Shrine when the first transatlantic pilgrimage flight by Aer Lingus from New York touched down on Mayo soil ahead of schedule at 7.30am. More than 170 pilgrimage passengers were on the flight and they were greeted on the tarmac by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, who was on hand to witness this historic event.
A pilgrimage to Medjugorje for one week from August 26 is being arranged. The pilgrimage will be departing from Dublin and a deposit of €100 secures a place. The spiritual director will be Fr Charlie McDonnell. For more information contact Detta Molloy on 086 8197111 or [email protected]
A seven day pilgrimage takes place from September 6 to 13 with spiritual director Fr Karl Burns. The pilgrimage will visit Rome, Assisi, Tuscany, Pisa and Florence.
