Eighty-two renewable energy projects have been given the green light, following the first Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) auction, including the Claremorris Solar PV Farm - the first of its kind in Mayo.

The National Energy Training Academy (NETA), which is based in Mayo, has welcomed Energy Minister Eamon Ryan's announcement of measures to encourage the on-site generation of electricity in homes and farms across Ireland. A local solar installation company, Padraig Keegan Heatingand Plumbing, has joined an all-Ireland accreditation scheme that brings peace of mind to homeowners in Westmeath looking to install solar thermal hot water systems. The company has passed stringent vetting criteria to become a member of the Kingspan Solar Accredited Installer Scheme.
