Westmeath have drawn Louth in the first round of the qualifiers due to take place on Saturday week, June 30.

After the buzz and excitement of the big win over Derry in round one of the NFL, it was back to reality last Sunday in Pearse Stadium when the Galway footballers were fortunate to get a point from their tie with Louth.

Westmeath footballers will be hoping it’s a case of third time lucky when they take the field against Louth in Croke Park this Saturday evening at 7pm. Louth came out on top when the sides met in the championship last summer and again in the first round of this year’s league campaign.

The Crane Bar may be up for sale but the current tenants, Mick Crehan and Maeve Joyce, will be staying, regardless of who the new owner will eventually be.
