Eoin Murphy - a second year event management student in GMIT - flew through his heats in small but challenging waves with clean lines and tight turns. He eventually surfed his way into second position, claiming the silver medal. Also representing GMIT was Padraic Alan O’Conaire who claimed second place in the body boarding category. He scored high marks due to his technical 360 turns and clean lines.
