Stewart lead the way with four awards at Irish Design and Build Oscars

Local construction company Stewart has won awards in four categories at The Irish Design and Build Award, where more than 500 people from the world of architecture, engineering, construction and design attended the biggest annual awards ceremony in the industry to date. The event is held to recognise and acknowledge the best in Ireland’s Building & Design projects over the last 12 months. The 2016 judging panel consisted of some of the leading professionals in their fields and was an opportunity to showcase some of the best Irish Building and Design Projects.

THE SURPRISE of the year so far is Spotlight. Much like Room it is an uncomfortable topic that will be avoided by people but you should not avoid it (or Room for that matter). The film concentrates on the investigation run by the Boston Globe in 1999/2000, on the systematic abuse and ensuing cover-up by the Catholic church throughout the last century.

An Pucan rocks home with two new awards titles for Galway

An Pucan, Galway’s multi award winning, newest oldest bar, has been awarded another two industry awards. The ‘Oscars’ of the Irish licensing industry were held in Dublin on September 7 to celebrate the best of Irish hospitality at the “Sky Bar of the Year Awards”. With over 30,000 votes cast by the public, An Púcán took home the award for Connaught Bar of the Year and also for Best Use of Social Media.
