With Ireland just a few weeks into its EU presidency, a new European Movement/Red C poll has shown that 86 per cent of those polled in the North West EU Constituency believe that Ireland should remain part of the EU, with 83 per cent believing that Ireland has benefited overall from its membership of the EU.

Retail Excellence Ireland (REI), Ireland’s largest retail industry body, has announced that Westport is Ireland’s best town. Kilkenny was nominated as Ireland’s best city. This is the third time in only a few months that Westport has won a national award after receiving its first award from the Irish Times.
