A community centre for the Newcastle area will become a reality if it is successful in securing money under a new fund being established by the Department of Rural and Community Development.

The annual general meeting of the Newcastle Combined Community Association will take place via Zoom on Wednesday December 8 at 8pm.

A city residents group, which is spearheading a plan to build a community centre in their area but are awaiting Government funding, will meet with the Minister for Housing later this month in a bid to speed up the process.

The Newcastle Combined Community Association will launch the business plan for its proposed new community centre at Loyola Lane, Newcastle at a public meeting on Wednesday, May 8 at the Menlo Park Hotel at 9pm.

A meeting to discuss the options of developing a community centre in Newcastle will be held in the area on Tuesday week, August 28.
