Westport made light work of having to play three championship games in seven days last Saturday night when they cruised home to a six point win over Kiltimagh in the Mayo Intermediate Championship final in MacHale Park. On Sunday, they will be back in Mayo GAA HQ where they take on Galway champions Monivea-Abbey for a place in the final of the Connacht Club Intermediate Championship.

The Charlestown 10k will be the fourth race in Mayo AC C&C Cellular 2013 Road League. It takes place at 5pm on Saturday September 7 and will be the first big race of the month in the west. Charlestown is an excellent location on the N5/N17 and easily accessible from all points in the province. The organisers are hoping for a big turnout and their local hero David Tiernan, who runs with Mayo AC, will be heading the challenge. All are welcome to join and run, jog, or walk.

The 15th annual Cape Cod Walk will take place from Saturday May 25 to Sunday June 2 2013. Over the past 14 years dozens of volunteers have completed the challenge of walking 100km on the beautiful island of Cape Cod, which is just an hour from the city of Boston. To date, the walks have raised more than €850,000 for The Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, which is used to provide palliative care for the many patients who require the services in both Mayo and Roscommon.
