Castlebar school to benefit from pedestrian crossings

A decision by Castlebar Town Council and Mayo County Council to agree to fund two pedestrian crossings on the approach roads to St Patrick’s Boys’ National School has been welcomed by staff member Harry Barrett, a Labour member on Castlebar Town Council. The crossings are to be placed at Gallow’s Hill, adjacent to the rear entrance to the school and on Chapel Street.

Greenwave 2010 experiment looking for Mayo schools to participate

Mayo schools have been invited to take part in this year’s Greenwave project after 10 local schools took part in the project last year. Nine Mayo schools participate in green energy project

Nine Mayo schools that have already earned an An Taisce’s Green Flag are now embarking on An Taisce’s Green Energy Project sponsored by ESB Independent Energy. Through support and engagement with local businesses they will get the opportunity to see, learn and generate new ideas on the benefits and impacts of best practice in energy management.
