THE RÓISÍN Dubh will hold a Silent Disco on Wednesday November 17 at 11.45pm, after The Laughter Lounge show, to raise funds for Movember.

‘Movember’ is a ‘growing’ movement which happens annually to raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues. It started in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia. The plan was simple; to bring the moustache back as a bit of a joke and do something for men’s health. No money was raised in 2003, but the guys behind the Mo realized the potential a moustache had in generating conversations about men’s health.

Throughout the decades many famous men have proudly worn a moustache - Salvador Dali, Tom Selleck, Frank Zappa, Friedrich Nietzsche, Mark Twain, and ahem, Adolf Hitler.

The men who have grown moustaches for the Movember charity will have their facial hair removed at a big ‘shave off’ party in The Cellar Bar, Eglinton Street, on Tuesday December 1 at 7.30pm.
