Galway United and Connacht Hockey have confirmed that planning permission is being sought with Galway County Council for a multipurpose sport training facility in Mountain South, Athenry.

The facility will be a game changer for Galway sports as it will consist of two full-size football pitches – one grass and one all-weather – and a full-size hockey pitch. Changing facilities, administrative offices, meeting rooms and a high-performance gymnasium will also be in the floodlit facility.
