Matt Keane and his family of musicians return to the Claregalway Hotel next month for two nights of entertainment.

AFTER AN absence of two years, the Matt Keane & family concert returns to the Claregalway Hotel on Friday March 25.

Five stories from Mayo have been selected to appear in a fascinating new book on the GAA – written by people at the heart of the association nationwide.

The Keane family from Caherlistrane; Matt, Sean, Orlaith and Laura Keane take to the stage for the first big concert of 2020. They will be joined by musicians Derek Hickey, Maria Fahy, Meadhbh O’Neill, Colm Naughton, Caoimhe Ni Flaharta, Pat Coyne, Catherine McHugh and the Hernon Family from Carna.

The annual Michael Commins Galway Concerts are rolling around fast with just three weeks to go before the annual gathering which draws friends and country music followers from all over the island of Ireland as well as some from England and America.

Country and Irish legends Big Tom and Margo, along with folk singer Johnny McEvoy, headline the Galway Sessions in The Salthill Hotel. The Galway Sessions, hosted by Michael Commins, take place on Sunday November 5 and Monday 6. Johnny McEvoy has been active on the folk scene since the 1960s and even once supported the Rolling Stones. His performance on Sunday will be his debut at the Galway Sessions.

SPIRIT OF The West - traditional music, songs, and dance, a new show produced and directed by folk singer Matt Keane, along with Colm Naughton, comes to The Claregalway Hotel this month.
