The new secondary league for clubs in Mayo is due to get under way this weekend. The new league, which was introduced after a vote at the county convention, is aimed at keeping club players in action during the national league and championship while the inter-county players are tied up with Mayo teams.

I said last week that a shock could be on the cards in Semple Stadium last Sunday.
