The new stand will see the capacity of the stadium go from an existing capacity of 35,482 up to 41,217, with the new stand offering 9,685 fully covered seats, the stand will stretch the full length of the pitch on the Sportlann side.

The Mayo County Council arts office has announced the exciting line-up for the 2009 Force 12 Writers’ Weekend which is taking place this year from Friday June 12 to Sunday June 14 in Belmullet. The BBC will film a documentary in Mayo in January 2010 as part of a new major historical series to be broadcast jointly on BBC N Ireland and on RTÉ in 2011.
