The west of Ireland is gearing itself up for further boxing success next month when Mayo's own Henry ‘The Western Warrior’ Coyle takes on Italy's Elio Cotena for the WBF Light Middleweight title at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar on Friday August 12.
Birmingham’s Delroy “Sweet D” Mitchell is promising an uncomfortable homecoming for Henry Coyle when the two clash in a light middleweight 10 rounder at the Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar, on the Hunky Dorys Fight Night on November 15. Coyle, the “Western Warrior” from Geesala in County Mayo, relocated to Chicago last year to launch his pro career having been Irish Senior Champion as an amateur. He returns to his native county on November 15 for his first professional fight on Irish soil as the chief support to Bernard Dunne who takes on world rated Mexican Eduardo Garcia.
Henry Coyle is counting down the hours to his first professional fight in Ireland after relocating to Chicago to turn professional. Tomorrow night he will step into the ring to take on Delroy “Sweet Dee” Mitchell in the Breaffy House International Sports Hotel. Coyle is aware that the there will be a lot of pressure on him when he walks into the ring. “There is a lot of pressure on me, this being my first fight back in Mayo. I’m looking forward to showing off my skills and abilities in front of my home crowd, but with that comes added pressures.”
