The Galway Masters Basketball Association is gearing up for an action-packed weekend as it prepares to host the eagerly anticipated 11th Galway Masters International Tournament. Founded in 2011, the association has consistently promoted master's basketball and nurtured the spirit of camaraderie in the sport. This year's tournament, which takes place from tomorrow Friday November 10 to Sunday November 12, promises to be a spectacle of sportsmanship, competition, and giving back to the community.

Castlebar's Mustangs basketball team made their comeback at the Dublin Masters tournament recently. They played three group games and their first match was against Killester from Dublin, which was a hard-fought victory for Mustangs with a score of 35-20.

Mustangs played their fourth game of the season at home in De la Salle on Tuesday last against Longford Falcons. The Mustangs’ start to this game was much improved on their previous performances in this season to date. The Mustangs’ opening quarter was sufficiently damaging to hurt the travelling side to an almost non recovery state - scoring 24 points to Falcon’s 9 points, with player- coach, Siobhan Kilkenny, Grainne Flynn and Ciara Griffin, on combined scores of 20 points, with steals and fast breaks causing much of the damage.

Clown Doctors bring mayhem to this year’s Galway Masters International Basketball Tournament!!

Aoife’s Clown Doctors have been nominated as this year’s Galway Masters Tournament Charity. The Clown Doctors are currently funded by ‘The Friends of Aoife Hendrick’ which was set up in memory of five-year-old Aoife Hendrick who sadly lost her battle to leukaemia in 2012. Clown Doctors Razzmatazz and Ditzy Glitzy launched the tournament recently at UCHG’s paediatric unit.
