Portumna Golf Club: It was a story of the three Marys from Portumna as the minor ladies won the All-Ireland at Donabate Golf Club. Portumna were unstoppable in the final with Mary McDonagh leading the way by scoring a 4&3 win in the first match. Mary McElroy followed with an impressive 7&5 win before Mary Kelly brought the title west thanks to a 5&4 win in the penultimate game.

Fitness levels increase over the festivities

Over Christmas 61 members of The Kilkenny Fit4life Club took part in the final “timing session” for 2009. Members and club leaders were very satisfied with the results as 56 out of the sixty-one showed improvements in their times since the initial timing on September 29.
