Uachtara?n na hE?ireann, Catherine Connolly will be the honorary guest at a very special North /South Organ Donation Transplantation Event at the Circle of Life Garden in Salthill, Galway on Saturday, May 23, the last day of Organ Donor Awareness Week. This will be the first time organ donor families, organ recipients and representatives of the medical profession and health services from both the North and South of Ireland will come together for an event to promote the cause of organ donation on an all-island basis.

Organ donor families and grateful transplant recipients from around the country are supporting the Organ Donor Awareness Week 2022 campaign which will take place from April 23 to 30 and is organised by the Irish Kidney Association in association with the HSE’s Organ Donation Transplant Ireland.

The Irish Kidney Association (IKA) is looking forward to celebrating the annual Organ Donor Awareness Week 2021 with many public sites around the country being lit up in green from Saturday, March 27 until Saturday, April 3.

Organ Donor Week, which was to run until Saturday, became another victim of the coronavirus lockdown, but Galwegisns wishing to donate can still do so online.
