Blessed are the feathers and fur
Last Saturday October 8 the now annual blessing of pets took place in Knock Shrine, the event was organised by the Family Centre at Knock Shrine which decided to run it again this year. Owing to the the nature of the creatures that were being blessed, the event was held outside the Family Centre at the Shrine.

A global audience will watch the concert The Story of Love composed by Dublin-born composer and musician Willie Hughes, to be broadcast on Saturday October 15 and Sunday October 16 from Knock Basilica. The concert will be streamed live on the website of Pope Francis' recently launched prayer app. The Pope’s video for the month of October, featuring his prayer intention, will be screened as part of the concert.
Historic day as IWAK and Knock Shrine welcome first Transatlantic Pilgrimage Flight from Boston
Knock Shrine and Ireland West Airport were delighted today (Friday, July 15), to welcome the arrival of the first Diocesan pilgrimage from the Archdiocese of Boston with Aer Lingus. This represented a historic development for the airport and the region, as this is the first transatlantic service operated by Aer Lingus, from Boston, to Ireland West Airport and the first official chartered pilgrimage from Boston to Ireland’s National Marian Shrine.

Forty years of Knock Basilica remembered
A special ceremony of re-dedication will take place at Knock Basilica on Saturday July 16 at 3pm to mark 40 years of the original dedication of Knock Basilica on July 18, 1976. The basilica has been completely modernised and transformed into a warm and welcoming sacred space with top of the range technology incorporated to facilitate pilgrims with live-streamed Masses and ceremonies as well a broader mix of concerts and events, such as the hugely successful ‘Concert for Peace’ which took place in May.

Mayo's Matthew is going for transplant gold
A 18-year-old Knock man will the youngest member of the Irish team that will compete in the European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships, which takes place in Vantaa, Finland, from July 10 to 17. Matthew McNieve is a kidney transplant recipient and he is the youngest member of the Irish team.
