An exhibition examining the effect of rural electrification on women in Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s was launched by former President of Ireland Mary Robinson at the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, in Turlough Park, Castlebar, last Friday.

GTI presents art and design future award winners

Galway Technical Institute presents the artists and designers of the future in its 2019 student exhibition. Students from four groups — art: portfolio preparation QQI Level 5; drawing and visual inquiry QQI Level 6; animation QQI Level 6; and furniture making and design QQI Level 5 — will be showing the results of their year’s hard work from Friday May 24 to Tuesday May 28, (excluding Sunday) from 10am until 4pm.
