The Village got off to a flying start in the Kilkenny senior hurling league/championship with a 2-22 to 0-11 win over Tullaroan last Sunday in Tom Ryall Park. The Village boys cemented this fine win in the opening quarter when a teasing ball into the forward division was won by the hard working and lively Eoin McCormack who took on the Tullaroan defence and passed the ball off to corner forward, Niall Tyrrell who sent the ball to the net.

Cats up for 10 awards as nominations for the Opel GPA Hurling Team announced

The nominees for the 2010 Opel GPA Hurling Team of the Year were announced earlier in the week by the Gaelic Players Association. A total of 45 players have been shortlisted for the Team of the Year, while four players also received nominations for the prestigious Opel GPA Hurler of the Year Award.
