A two-day conference for craft workers in Ireland begins in Galway tomorrow.

The biennial conference of IMPACT, Ireland’s largest public service union, takes place in the conference centre of the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny, from Wednesday May 19 to Friday May 21. The conference opens at 7pm on May 19 and will finish on the afternoon of May 21.

Strike action by staff at the Mount Carmel Hospital Group in Aut Even in Kilkenny which was due to get under way last Monday, was averted following talks.
