Galway-based medical technology company Aerogen Ltd has been revealed as contender for the 2011 Medical Technology Company of the Year Award. The shortlist of six companies was announced this week with the overall winner set to be announced at the 2011 Medical Technology Industry Excellence Awards which will take place on December 8 in Limerick.

Pat O’Donnell, Managing Director of Allergan Pharmaceuticals, has been elected President of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation, west region, for the term 2008-2010.

The Irish Business and Employers Confederation has warned that decisions taken by Mayo County Council in the 2010 local authority budgetary process will have critical significance on the ability of businesses to remain competitive and survive. That is according to IBEC West regional director John Brennan.
