On St Patrick’s Day a charity gig like no other will take place in the Royal Theatre in aid of Rock Rose House and the Irish Cancer Society. Mayo’s Magnificent Seven presents The Full Monty with the aim of raising some money, some eyebrows, and some temperatures.

The Masquerade Ball is back for year two to allow you the chance to live out a fairytale evening of Venetian inspiration while raising much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society. The Irish Cancer Society is launching a new programme to help those recently diagnosed with secondary cancer to learn about and discuss the practical and emotional issues of their diagnosis in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment. The six month programme, which will be facilitated by clinical psychologist Aine Melinn, will commence in March 2013 and meetings will take place at the Irish Cancer Society headquarters in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

The people of Mayo have been congratulated for successfully pinking up their county with the Centra Pink Umbrella Walk. The events, which took place across the county at the end of October, have been hailed a great achievement after local people turned out in great numbers to participate in the walk. As crowds of local people took steps to raise funds and awareness for the Irish Cancer Society’s Get the Girls campaign, the county was taken over by Centra’s fabulous pink umbrellas.

The Mayo Cancer Support Association, Castlebar, has been elected to the National Networking Committee of the Irish Cancer Society’s Cancer Support Affiliation Programme for the West/Northwest region.
