Cancer Care West has reported one of its busiest years on record, providing vital practical and emotional support to nearly 3,000 cancer patients and their families throughout 2024.

Cancer Care West supported over 2,800 cancer patients and their families throughout 2023, with more than half of these patients being newly diagnosed. As the charity marked its 30th anniversary, the numbers supported reflect both a rising need and the essential role Cancer Care West plays in the lives of thousands of people across the West and Northwest of Ireland.

Earlier last year, Cancer Care West, the West of Ireland cancer charity, launched a new bus service for Mayo Cancer patients, who must travel to University Hospital Galway (UHG) to receive treatment for cancer.
