THE BIRTH of Modern Music is the title for this year’s Music for Galway mid-winter festival which runs from Friday January 17 to Sunday 19 at the Town Hall Theatre.

Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, an extremely controversial ballet in its day, but appreciated now as a pioneering classic, will be staged at this year’s Galway Arts Festival.
