Unions representing staff in the public service in the Midlands have begun formally serving notice of industrial action on the Government to take effect from next Monday, in protest at cuts in pay introduced in the recent Budget.

IMPACT trade union, which represents more than 1,200 public servants in Carlow and Kilkenny held information meetings for members on Monday and Tuesday this week in advance of industrial action to take place from Monday January 25.
