A Kilkenny woman was last week’s winner of the ‘Innocent Big Knit’ campaign in aid of Age Action Ireland.

Mayo people urged to knit mini-hats in county colours

Age Action needs 80,000 little hats knitted between now and September and is calling on the people of Mayo to “Cast on in their county colours”. According to a spokesperson for the charity it only takes 20 minutes to knit a little hat (less if you can already knit!) and Age Action is keen to see which county is passionate enough to knit the most hats in its county colours.

Proprietor of the Galway Hat shop, Sandra Divilly, is opening a special sale shop for one week only. Sandra will be the third generation of the Divilly family to trade from Number 34 Shop Street. Both her grandfather Martin Divilly and her father Brian Divilly ran Divilly's Butchers from the premises. Suzanne's Boutique, run by Sandra's mother, was the first ladies’ fashion store on the premises followed by Sasha boutique.
