Judge laments “skewed” sentencing

A judge pleaded with the lawmakers of the State to “look carefully at comments the courts make”, and described the range of sentencing available as “totally skewed”, comparing the 12-month maximum sentence for theft with the maximum six months for drink driving.

PSA inspectors find excellent compliance rates among security guards in Galway city

This week, inspectors from the Private Security Authority (PSA), visited a number of retail premises and carried out inspections of security guard (static) services in Galway city.
