FRESH FROM a hugely successful tour of the United States, Druid’s smash-hit staging of Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan makes a welcome return to the Town Hall for three nights only.

The USA is continuing its love affair with Druid Theatre by giving standing ovations and rave reviews to the Galway company’s productions of The Cripple of Inishmaan and Penelope.

Druid will fly the flag for Irish theatre in the US for St Patrick’s Day when the company presents Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan in Chicago and Enda Walsh’s Penelope in Washington DC.

Seán O’Casey’s play The Silver Tassie was written in 1927, but it has never been performed in the United States. However that will change this summer.

Renowned theatre company Druid bring Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan to Roscommon Arts Centre for three performances only from Thursday to Saturday January 27 to 29. There are a very limited number of seats left for what is one of the highlights of the theatrical season. These three performances mark the beginning of a major 21-week tour and Roscommon Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Druid to the town for their first performance here.

MICK LALLY’s life and work will be remembered and celebrated this Sunday from 5pm when Sean Tyrrell, Johnny Mulhearn, Wally Page, Johnny Moynihan, Tony Small, Lena Ullman, Eugene Lambe, Terry Smith, and Mary Staunton take to the stage for Music and Song Tribute to Mick Lally in Monroe’s Live.

The late, great, Mick Lally, will be remembered on TG4 next week with the broadcast of Cairdeas, the final television work in which he starred.
