With the festive season just around the corner, Folens, one of Ireland’s leading educational publishers, is preparing to to celebrate the sixth year of their Christmas Annaul Charity Campaign. The campaign, which has proved incredibly successful over the years, involves over 450 Christmas annuals being donated to children’s wards across Mayo.

The children’s ward in Mayo General Hospital received some Christmas magic early this year, with the arrival of 480 Folens Christmas annuals this week as a part of the national donation to Children in Hospital Ireland.

Selected from more than 100 entries, Galway secondary school teacher Laoise Martin is one of 10 benefactors of the Folens Overseas Teaching Fund which finances Irish teachers on charitable trips during summer.

Mayo General Hospital started its Christmas festivities early this week with the arrival of 480 Christmas annuals for the children’s ward. Folens is once again teaming up with Yoobyoo – Children in Hospital Ireland (CHI) to spread some festive cheer in the lead up to Christmas by donating popular annuals; Súgradh, Siamsa, Sonas and Spraoi, for the children to enjoy.

Folens, Ireland’s leading educational publishing company, has announced the shortlist for its Golden Anniversary Schools Competition, which has a prize fund of €100,000. Three Mayo schools are now in the running: Ballyhaunis Community School, Davitt College, and Breaffy National School.
