St Mary's GAA Club is hosting the annual Sean McGovern School of Hurling on August 27, September 3, and September 10 from 10am-12pm at its club grounds in Carnaun.

GAA fundraiser

The GAA will host a monster 25 card drive (singles) on Sunday at 6pm in the Salthill Hotel with a shotgun start and €3,000 in prizes. The winner receives €1,000, with four runner-up prizes of €500 each. All proceeds go to the preparation of all Galway intercounty teams for 2016. Mayo mourns death of young GAA star

The GAA community and wider community in Mayo were in mourning this week following the death of the talented 19-year-old Darragh Doherty who lost his life in a road traffic collision on Sunday night. Doherty from Ballyhenry in Kilmaine was killed in a single vehicle traffic collision at Carromore, near Ballinrobe on Sunday night.
