FÉILE NA bhFlaitheartach is different from other summer schools. It is not a talking shop for Official Ireland, but a commemoration of two Aran Island born brothers, who went into the world with a desire to change it.

A Stars in their Eyes fundraiser in aid of Féile Cheoil Larry Reynolds will take place on Friday, June 23, at Gullane’s Hotel from 8pm.

The effervescent family festival Féile na Tuaithe 2016 came to a close at the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life two weeks ago. It was a rollercoaster weekend, with more than 20,000 visitors joining in a joyful celebration of country life and everything associated with it. The atmosphere was truly wonderful and ear to ear smiles adorned faces young and old.

Féile na Tuaithe, which takes place Turlough Park, is one of the biggest free family festivals in the west and it returns to the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life outside Castlebar on Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22 from 12 noon to 5pm both days. Entry and car parking are free of charge and bumper crowds of up to 30,000 are expected over the two day event. All elements in Féile have a direct connection with the exhibitions within the museum itself which showcases traditional country life since the 19th century.
