Connemara-based dog rescue and adoption service MADRA has announced details of a scheme to encourage Galway-based dog owners to act responsibly by spaying their female dogs. The charity has pledged almost €30,000 in funding towards the initiative.

MADRA’s Doing it for the Dogs with the two councils

MADRA have teamed up with Galway County Council and Galway City Council to provide a discounted microchipping service this Sunday September 18 at the Claddagh Hall. As part of MADRA’s Doing it for the Dogs Fundraiser, dog owners can get their dog microchipped at a substantially reduced rate of €25. For dogs already chipped, owners can avail of a free scan and check service to make sure their contact details are up-to-date.
