Scéim Éadan Siopaí Bhéal an Mhuirthead, a joint initiative between Údarás na Gaeltachta and Mayo County Council designed to promote the visibility of the Irish language through traditional and modern shop front design, was officially launched in Belmullet by Pádraig Ó hAoláin, Chief Executive of Údarás na Gaeltachta and Des Mahon, Manager of Mayo County Council.

Surgical and diagnostic breast cancer services at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar will be transferred to Galway in a few weeks, a meeting of the HSE West forum were told this week. Initially the services were to be moved in September, then the HSE said it would be December but now confirmation has been given that Mayo patients will start attending the centre of excellence in Galway in a few weeks. However no definitive date has been given for the move.

Following the release of Junior Cert results recently the No Name Club announces two graduation nights in Erris and Claremorris on September 28 and October 3 respectively as well as a No Name Club Rose of Carrindine in Balla on October 26 as part of Positive Alternatives campaign.
