Galway Erasmus student caught up in Brussels Airport bombing

A Galway student was caught up in the horror that ensued when two bombs detonated in Brussels on Tuesday. Following on from the atrocity in Paris last November when 130 people were killed, 31 innocent citizens lost their lives after attacks at Brussels International Airport and a city metro station on Tuesday morning. The death toll continues to rise as 200 people were injured, many critically.

THE 1916 leaders have been demonised and canonised, praised for helping Ireland become independent, and blamed for the Northern Troubles - which began 50 years after their death. Their life and legacy is very much contested ground.

Easter revision courses at Mill Street

Enrolments for the Leaving and Junior Cert intensive Easter courses are currently being accepted at The Galway Study Centre in Mill Street. Classes will start on Tuesday morning March 29 and continue until Saturday April 2. Bookings will continue to be accepted up until Thursday March 24, provided there are places vacant. However as many subjects are almost booked out, there is limited availability at this stage. There is also a week of supervised study for Leaving students starting from next Monday, March 21. The supervised study group is limited to 15 and only a couple of fee spaces remain.
