Midlands to host important National Science Conference

Atlantic Corridor in Tullamore is set to host its third National Science Conference in February with speakers of national and international importance in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths.

A challenge hurling match and a return game played between Galway Woollen Mills, Newtownsmyth, and the Post Office was the seed that led to the inauguration of an inter-factory hurling competition. Bannon walk-out in protest at flood failure

Local Fine Gael TD James Bannon walked out of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Environment, Heritage & Local Government on Tuesday, in protest at the Government’s failure to set up a river Shannon authority to ensure that flooding will not devastate housing, farming, business, and tourism in the Midlands again.
