Coillte hosts tree identification event in Belleek Woods during Tree Week

Last week Coillte hosted a tree identification walk attended by Culleens National School as part of ESB Tree Week 2016. This was one of the events that Coillte hosted as part Tree Week 2016, along with a series of nature walks and tree planting events to inspire people to experience the positive role that trees play in our lives. In addition Coillte donated 15,000 trees that were planted by community groups and schools all around the country, bringing thousands of people together to get their hands dirty, and add more green to neighbourhoods all around the country.

A young man in Athenry, who is building a house on family owned land, has been in contact with the Galway Advertiser to express his anger that Galway County Council and Irish Water are charging a combined total of €4,800 to install a pipe to connect to the water mains. The water runs directly in front of the site on which the man is building.
