Opinions on how Ireland should be run will be aired next week when the Western region of the Chartered Institute of Personal and Development (CIPD) will hold its annual conference at GMIT.

This year the 16 days of action opposing violence against women will run from November 25 to December 10 and to highlight this Cosgallen CDP are running an event called In Her Shoes. This involves having a shoe display on a shop window with each pair of shoes representing one woman who has been murdered in Ireland since 1996 as a result of domestic violence. To facilitate this event Cosgallen would be grateful if local people would drop old unwanted ladies’ shoes into their office or into O’Connell’s Pharmacy, Main Street, Swinford.
