Tonight, Thursday January 15 sees 16 Hours of Flight making their debut appearance in The Snug. They are a modern/classic rock band set up in 2014 with Lorraine Perry on vocals, Stanley Oliver on guitar, Carol Griffin on bass, and Daniel Lima on drums.

Tonight, Friday August 1,The Snug Bar is the perfect place to kick off your bank holiday weekend with Macey South. For those not already familiar with this popular Athlone band, Macey South is a young, energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to The Pogues and Horslips. The instruments range from accordion to electric guitar, with a rasping acoustic guitar and drums driving the melodies on.

Carlow students ‘busy as bees’ for Kilkenny honey producer

A novel ‘honey plunger’ that dispenses honey without dripping and an individual portion honey dispenser, for use by those wishing to use honey as a sugar substitute, won the award for best marketing and design concepts by IT Carlow students for international Irish honey producer.
