The home economics department and talented transition year bakers from St Joseph's Secondary School, Castlebar, will once again be hosting their annual cake sale fundraiser in conjunction with Rua on Sunday October 14 next from 12pm.

This awards scheme, organised in association with Fáilte Ireland, was designed to highlight the importance of the Irish breakfast to international visitors to Ireland and domestic travellers, and aims to support the use of Irish foods and quality produce as part of the Irish breakfast on offer.
The board of Gnó Mhaigh Eo has appointed four new board members in recent months. Earlier this year, Colleen McMahon of Rua, Castlebar, and Caroline Price of Oileán Éadaigh – West Mayo Brewery, joined the board of directors, bringing with them their knowledge and first-hand experience of working in business in Mayo. Rua was the recipient of Gnó Mhaigh Eo’s Gradam Gnó – Business with Irish Award last year, and West Mayo Brewery was one of the other companies on the shortlist for the award.
