The first steps in the Realignment of the N26 project at Cloongullane Bridge, Swinford, have begun ahead of schedule, according to Mayo County Council.

The issue was raised by Fianna Fáil councillor Annie May Reape at the January meeting of the local authority following news that emerged that the board had pushed a decision on the project back to autumn of this year.
