Galway minor ladies have captured their third Connacht title in a row after a hard-fought battle with Mayo in Ballyhaunis on Monday.

The Galway u-16 girls ran out of steam in extra time after an epic battle with Dublin who claimed this year’s All Ireland final in Moate on Sunday by 6-12 to 4-13.

Galway u16 girls claimed the Connacht title in Charlestown on Sunday last but were made fight all the way by a determined Roscommon side. The Rossies played with the wind in the first half but it was Galway that started the better and were two points up inside three minutes, with points from Riona Ni Fhlatharta and Leanne Coen.
