Mustangs had their first game of 2020 away to Mohill last Saturday evening.

The Mustangs troops set off on the long trek to County Louth last weekend for the Drogheda Invitational Tournament 2019.

The Dublin Masters had over 40 competing teams with 16 women’s teams, and Castlebar outfit Mustangs were grouped with Sheffield Pick ‘n’ Mix, Dublin Allstars and Dublin Lions.

There was no rest for the Mustangs who faced into two games over five days in the past week - but they kept up their winning ways, seeing off both the Castlerea Cosmos and Mohill respectively.

Mustangs played their fourth game of the season at home in De la Salle on Tuesday last against Longford Falcons. The Mustangs’ start to this game was much improved on their previous performances in this season to date. The Mustangs’ opening quarter was sufficiently damaging to hurt the travelling side to an almost non recovery state - scoring 24 points to Falcon’s 9 points, with player- coach, Siobhan Kilkenny, Grainne Flynn and Ciara Griffin, on combined scores of 20 points, with steals and fast breaks causing much of the damage.

Mustangs travelled away to their first match of the new season last Saturday evening to Mohill in Leitrim.

The last weekend in May saw Mustangs saddle up once again for the Dublin Masters 2018.

On Monday evening the mighty Mustangs made their way east to Edgeworthstown in an attempt to tame their hosts Longford Torpedos and claim the LLR League title.
