The new president of Castlebar Chamber, Oliver Kelleher, will have The Gathering Ireland 2013 as his main focus for the coming year.

The Castlebar Tourist Office, which is operated by Castlebar Chamber of Commerce volunteers and various employment schemes in the town, will receive €5,000 funding this year from the Town Council. Cllr Ger Deere told the budget meeting of Castlebar Town Council, “This is an invaluable service that has worked very well over the last year and we should continue to support it. I just popped in there before this meeting and they had 16 people call in already today and it’s a cold wet Tuesday in January.”
