Time Trial awards night

The winners in the Carlow Time Trial League 2008 were presented with their prizes on Monday night in the Seven Oaks Hotel. The league was a huge success with 43 Carlow cyclists taking part over the eight races. In the senior men’s category Mick Mulcahy of the Irish Road Club in Dublin came out victorious defeating Keith Heary of Carlow by 15 points. Phil Hennessey of the Tralee cycling club came in third place in the overall standings. In the veteran section Tom Lucas of the Carlow Road Club snatched victory ahead of Carlow Tri Clubs Mick McGrath with Will Mc Donald in third place. A special mention also to Pascal Tomlinson who was competing in the veterans section at the age of 64. In the ladies section Louise Nolan took gold with Geraldine Hendricken taking second place ahead of the experienced Hilary Jenkinson. The beginners section was won by Alan Butler who came through over the last two legs to beat Paul Redmond. In the team event Dan Morrissey’s were the winners with the team made up of Phil Morrissey, John Lawlor, Seamie Brennan and Keith Heary. In the King of the mountains section Keith Heary took the honours with Mick Mulcahy second and Phil Hennessey third.
