Clara under 14 camogie shield final: Clara under 14 camogie team played the under 14 shield final against Thomastown recently in St Kieran’s College. This was a hard fought battle with Clara first half scores coming from Alyson Creane who goaled after a solo run from midfield, Deirdre Carrigan scored Clara’s second goal following a pass from Catherine Murphy and Ciara Byrne pointed following a pass from Claire Nolan. Thomastown scored 1-1 in the first half. In the second half Thomastown scored two points to leave just a point between the teams and despite their best efforts the Clara backs denied them the score to level the match and Ciara Byrne added a point for Clara to leave the final score Clara 2-2, Thomastown 1-3.

Brennan is captain fantastic

With National League, under 16 and under 18 successes already in the bag for Kilkenny this year, a successful inter-county campaign for 2008 was completed for the Cats when Sinéad Brennan accepted intermediate silverware from Camogie Association President, Liz Howard, after Sunday's slender three-point victory at McDonagh Park in Nenagh.
