PIXAR HAS come to the end of a very unPixar like run. Its last three films, Cars 2, Brave, and Monsters University have been two uninspired sequels and a disappointing original film, and had lowered excitement levels for a Pixar original.

When lazy process server Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) witnesses a drug-related murder between a crooked cop and a dangerous drug lord, he and his drug dealer Saul (James Franco) have to go on the run. Dale panicked at the crime scene and dumped his joint of a rare new weed called Pineapple express, which was then traced back to Saul. The two fugitives quickly flee with the cop and his accomplice hot on their trail.

Zack and Miri are lifelong friends and flatmates who live together in a run-down apartment in Pittsburgh where they work at dull, low-level jobs. As cash-flow problems begin to mount, and their water and electricity gets cut off, they decide (during their high school reunion) to make an adult film as a way of solving their financial problems. As they attempt to keep their personal life and their new professional life separate, however, they discover they might have more feelings for each other than they previously thought.

TOMORROW SEES the release of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and The Eye Cinema has planned fun activities for children coming to the movies this Saturday and Sunday.

Most people fear the sequel. And in most cases, they are right to do so. But that was until DreamWorks Animation came along.
